For this season, Five Ten has introduced the new Trail Cross models as successors to the Adidas Terrex Trail Cross series. I had the opportunity to test the Trail Cross Mid Pro extensively on the trails of the Ahr valley. What immediately attracted my attention was the unusual look of the shoes, which at first glance appear somewhat “clunky”. In contrast to this first impression, however, the shoe was light and airy. The mesh fabric in the front area offered good ventilation. While the shoe is neither waterproof nor water-repellent, the two “cutouts” in the lateral area of the sole allow water to drain easily from the shoe. The high ankle section provides good support, which is very helpful when you have to push the bike uphill. In addition, the shoe is equipped with D3O pads, which you might already know from certain protectors. They protect the ankle reliably from blows. I guess there’s no need to say anything more about the S1 sole, which you’ll already know from the Freerider or Freerider Pro. No matter whether all-mountain, enduro, freeride, bike park or hiking adventures, the Trail Cross Mid Pro is ready for everything.
